About Us

Groundwork Concord is 501(c)3 non-profit organization, incorporated in 2001 with a Board of Directors of up to 15 members at any given time. We are an extremely small staff, relying about 1heavily on our volunteers, school and civic groups, and our organizational partners, donors, and sponsors to accomplish all that we do. We have an integral relationship with the City of Concord and it’s Planning, General Services, and Recreation and Parks Departments, as well as with Concord’s local and downtown development organizations.

We are also part of a nationwide network of Groundwork Trusts called Groundwork USA. There are 15 established trusts, and 7 trusts under development or investigation. As such, we have a collective wealth of knowledge and experience in environmental remediation, environmental justice, natural resource education, outdoor recreation, working with youth and volunteers, project design and project about 2development, and resource development. Groundwork USA is staffed and supported by the National Park Service in partnership with national community service and environmental agencies and foundations such as AmeriCorps and the Ford Foundation.

Groundwork Concord, supported by the National Park Service in its start-up years, now depends solely on city, community, grant, and corporate support. For the past 5 years, Groundwork is proud to be the recipient of an annual grant from the City of Concord that supports both operations and programs – specifically the City Tree Program, the Adopt-A-Spot Program, and the Trailmeisters Program (Concord Conservation Commission Trails Sub Committee). We are also a membership about 3organization, and solicit local volunteers and sponsors for our youth, community service and greening projects on a regular basis.

We hope you enjoy and appreciate our work. Please contact us with your feedback and ideas. We are here to make Concord, New Hampshire a better place to live, work, and play.
