Adopt-a-Spot Program

Groundwork Concord coordinates dozens of volunteers and corporate sponsors to maintain over 50 Adopt-A-Spot sites around the city annually.

Sites range from sidewalk landscapes and pocket parks, to traffic islands and entire intersections. Adopters sign a two year contract to plant, maintain and make improvements to their sites. Although adopters are primarily responsible for financial and labor commitment to a given site, Groundwork Concord provides assistance in sustainable site design, and access to a pool of volunteers for occasional assistance. New sites are always being added to the list. If you have a location you would like to discuss, or would like a full list of what’s available to adopt, contact

Look for Adopt-A-Spot signs around the city, made by the city’s General Services Department …..can you see you or your company’s name there?
