Any tips/tricks on how to keep dogs out of my garden/landscape bedding?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 by admin  |  Comments Off

I’ve been told that sprinkling a little cayenne pepper around the edges of landscaping helps keep cats out of it. However, my problem is the neighbor’s dogs whom continue to urinate on my garden fencing and decorative landscaping. We live in duplex style housing, and have a common patio area. I like my neighbors and don’t wish harm upon their dogs, but don’t like my child playing on the things their dogs have "marked".

What should be done to save trees & protect our environment?

I feel more and more people are pouring from rural to urban area’s,roads are widening, building’s & vehicles are raising in number ,at nights sky is blurred(filled with polluted gases) and uneven seasonal affects(rain in summer ,high temperature in winter,no rain in rainy season and raising prices ) . I think people are becoming more selfish and trying to control the environment which will take is revenge in coming years .When someone tries to spread greenery by planting tree’s ,people say that we don’t want tree’s but more area for them selfs .

I think we should treat trees and animals as part of our family and any one who tries cut /kill them should be jailed ,fined and forced to plant 10 times to what he did. Govt. must should aware people(treat like a national thread and spread information like breaking news on TV,Radio,Internet, public announcement ,movies and dramas ) about the harmful affects of global warming.

Logging’s role in Sustainable Forestry

Sustainable forestry could be heralded as a complicated term, which purports different things to different people. Being a newer concept, it also means managing renewable forest resources with the sole aim of promoting and maintaining healthy and productive forest land base in an endeavor to improvise the environmental, economic, and social well-being of one and all.  Sustainable forestry also centers on logging equipment, identifies the demand of timber products and employs people to prevent economic problems. It also focuses on the fact that social sustainability is also crucial as environmental sustainability.

Earlier foresters used to depend solely on using and cutting trees, but with the passage of time, by the middle ages, they started recognizing the ecological problems due to chopping of trees and started conserving and replenishing the timber resources. Today forests can be represented as a source of oxygen.  They play an all-important role in their fight against worldwide warming.  Broadly indicating the role of forestry is to exploit timber resources carefully and efficiently, since timber products are used world wide for producing a great array of products, right from parchment paper for baking to houses. No doubt timber products have a big demand and they are available in abundance, but it does not indicate harming rivers as a result from establishing roads for logging, erosion due to clear cutting and commotion to wildlife due to helicopter logging.  In this scenario a sustainable forester thinks of ways and means through which forests could be saved from harm.

In sustainable forestry logging companies have also an crucial role to play; like implementing state-of-the-art timber harvesting practices and technologies, complying with local laws and regulations, make use of best practice logging techniques which preserve soil, apart from wildlife and scenic values, employ various measures for tracking wood from forests to processing yards etc. In sustainability forestry, a logging company also provides that workers’ health and safety policies and practices are carefully followed. It should also execute operations in harmony with a reliable business plan. The logging company employed should also embark for implementing improved harvesting practices.

Sustainability forestry improves forests by encouraging cost-effective and environmental responsible practices in all forest lands. It also improves forest well being on a long-term basis and production by way of protecting forests against pests, wildfires and diseases. Thus logging companies should also attempt to reach the common goal of attaining sustainable forestry by way of achieving “responsible” forestry.  By responsible forestry it means reducing the impact of logging, setting a part elevated stewardship value forests, ensuring the conservation of ecosystem services along with biodiversity whilst defending the rights of local and native people to administer and utilize forest lands and resources.  In order to maintain transparency in their transaction, responsible forestry should also entail substantiation by third party auditors like FSC. A logging company, however, while implementing sustainable forestry should take measures in condemning the flow of illegal and recklessly harvested timber into consumer markets. If taken it seriously sustainable forestry would definitely improve the forests by embracing responsible and certified logging while squeezing out illegal operations.

Racing Pigeons in America

fostering pigeons is a great hobby, When pigeons get the attention they must have and deserve, they are a wonderful hobby. It is a recreation that grants hours of inexpensive fun and pleasure. They can be as neat and fun as any dog, cat, or fish.

Racing pigeons is one form of enjoyment. There are racing pigeon clubs in many areas of the World. It is the National Sport of Belgium. Several times each week, clubs in Belgium send hundreds of thousands of pigeons to race for prizes that can be over fifty thousand dollars. The Queen of England even has a loft of pigeons. She was presented them as a sign of friendship from the King of Belgium. Racing pigeons in the U.S. is also becoming a big sport. One race in America recently gave out nearly eight hundred thousand dollars in prize money to the top birds.

People that possess pigeons have a very big responsibility. They are representatives for the Sport. It takes time and work to make sure that the loft is clean and maintained. Notice that we said clean and well kept. A clean and well kept pigeon loft does not have to be expensive . It can be very cheap, but it does have to be maintained and clean, no matter what the expense . The pigeons must also be well trained. They need to have good manners. If they are allowed to fly all over the neighborhood and land wherever they please, then they  are definetly not well trained. When this happens,  neighbors may get  mad. They also get mad when they have to look at a raunchy and sloppy loft. When this happens, we are teaching our neighbors that pigeons arefilthy animals. We are not being very good representatives for the Sport.

If you would like to enter the Sport of Pigeon Racing, but you do not know where to find them, one of the best ways is to call a local feed dealer that sells pigeon feeds. They are often very helpful in helping you find a local  pigeon fancier . If you already know someone who has racing homers, then you already have a head start.
