Do You Have LED Growing Lights

Posted on October 30th, 2010 by  |  Comments Off

Major Benefits of LED Growing Lights

For people with a grow room then are you needing grow lights, such as LED (Light Emitting Diode) growing lights? That’s the real question! To respond to that concern, you need to see whether this type of grow lights offer an advantage over other types of in house garden lighting. Most of these solutions consist of Metal Halide (MH) lighting, and also High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights. The chief disadvantage to this kind of lighting choices is they create much more heating, and can demand approximately three-fourths more energy. Here are a few of the primary advantages of utilizing LED growing lights:

1. Reduce energy costs

LED growing lights tend to be much more cost effective than other kinds of lights for indoor gardening. Can you explain that? It is critical to understand why LED lighting is more cost-effective. LED lights utilizes electrons’ movements to transform electrical power directly into light. In reality, LED lights are far more energy-efficient compared to Compact Fluorescent Lights (CLFs) tend to be, and are much more energy-efficient compared to incandescent light bulbs are. This improved proficiency translates into reduced energy charges. And since the majority of us do not have an unlimited budget, that’s definitely a good thing.

2. Easy installation

Within the hustle and bustle of today’s society, this happens to be a substantial plus. One of the features that we’ve been seeking in DIY projects is actually just how easy they’re to accomplish. After we get free time to work on our grow room, we just don’t wish to take more time and energy than we need to. That is certainly why you need to undoubtedly look at LED growing lights over other kinds of lighting systems for your grow room.

3. Lower levels of noise

This is the substantial benefit of LED growing lights above other designs of light systems (such as HID lighting). Within time, noisy lighting as part of your grow room could become an annoyance. Even though it might not certainly be a dilemma to start with, the actual noise of a certain light system can eventually get on your nerves.

4. High-intensity lights

One of the most noticeable yet important tasks of an effective lighting technique with regard to grow rooms is always that it gives you adequate lighting to your plants and flowers. You won’t get that problem with LED growing lights, simply because they produce lighting of the high-intensity assortment. Because of this the plants and flowers will develop well over summer and winter. Otherwise, you can have concerns whenever less exterior lights is available, and especially during the wintertime.

5. Low temperature productivity

This isn’t always beneficial, since some types of plants will demand an increased quantity of heat. Nevertheless, this kind of function is ideal for those plants which do not require much heating to grow. So it’s vital to research your options just before growing particular plants inside a grow room. You could possibly figure out that other kinds of illumination will be more ideal than LED growing lights.

6. Directional operation

That is a advantage above other kinds of lighting systems that need reflectors to control the light’s course. The latter method can be extremely irritating when putting together your grow room.

These aforementioned benefits are a handful of the most important benefits of LED growing lights. Even if you haven’t used this kind of lights in a grow room before, in time they are likely to develop on you (pun intended)!

Every gardener needs a good and sturdy pair of gardening gloves. Gardening gloves protect your hands while you work with your plants and with the earth. Most gardeners like working the earth with their bare hands but sometimes gloves are necessary for protection. Many gardeners choose to use mats and kneelers because they help keep their clothing from getting to worn while they garden.

Are You a Free Energy Machine?

By Big John Lipscomb

It’s all about energy. Think of yourself as a complex machine that is capable of producing more energy than you take in. Scientifically, you’d be a “free energy machine”. But there are other soul machines that are less efficient and must be fed more energy than they produce, otherwise they will seize up and fail. So, the conductor of the machines diverts the excess energy from some to feed the lack of energy to others. Why would a manager do this? His priority is to prove that his machines operate as a whole. They might not do anything significant, but look folks, they all run!

Of course the manager could alter his priority and promote his best energy machines as special free-energy producers! However, he would need to dispose of the many that failed the excess energy test because it would be wasteful to store them and embarrassing to promote them. There would be no gain to high cost, low efficiency machines.

If you cannot support your own ability to live without the continued assistance of other people, you are not self-sufficing and are subsistent, requiring the energy of other people in order to survive. Why would other people continually shed their own energy to keep you and others alive month after month, year after year? The answer is, they wouldn’t. That’s why government forces others to provide for all. Government’s priority is to show that all its machines function effeciently, albeit collectively, not very well. It could change its mind or perhaps outside factors not currently in play could force managers and government to unplug all energy wasting machines in order to have anything of value left. In that case, will you be plugged in or disconnected?

If you are ready to become more independent I suggest you start with feeding yourself. Gardening is not only effecient living but is a great way to stay healthy. Try a heritage garden using heirloom vegetable seeds. The best company and value is http://www.survivalistseeds.com. Live well but not for the sake of others.

Canada Lithium Getting Stronger

Posted on October 29th, 2010 by  |  Comments Off

The Lithium Stock ,Canada Lithium Corp., which is developing the $150-million lithium carbonate mine 60 kilometres north of Val d’Or, said Wednesday its common shares and warrants have begun trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol CLQ. Trading in the shares and warrants on the TSX Venture Exchange will cease. “Moving up to the senior board will give us better visibility in the investing community as we move through the definitive feasibility study for the Quebec lithium project,” CEO Peter Secker said. The full feasibility study will be completed in the first quarter of next year. The new open-pit mine is set to start producing battery-grade lithium in late 2012 at an annual rate of 42.6 million pounds, and the project is on track, Secker added. Lithium-based batteries power mobile phones, laptops and scores of other devices, and are used widely in military and medical hardware. Lithium is also used in mood-stabilizing drugs. But a worldwide boom in lithium exploration has begun as new battery technology, based on the silver-white metal, fans hopes for a new generation of longer-range all-electric and hybrid vehicles. The world lithium battery market for electric and hybrid vehicles will grow from 2,400 units in 2008 to 1.53 million units by 2015, high-tech consulting firm Frost and Sullivan says.

Bolivia’s Lithium Prospects
As is well known, with its 5.4 million MT of Li content (US Geological Survey), Bolivia holds the world’s largest reserves of lithium. Since May 2008 the government has been developing a pilot plant to obtain around 480MT of Li Carbonate a year. As of October 2009 the progress of the plant showed a delay of at least 6 months which implies that it will become fully operational only in 2011. In addition, the government has announced that it will invest US$ 350 million on an industrial plant to produce between 20,000 and 30,000 MT of Li Carbonate beginning 2015.

Choose a Pergola or an Arbor to add class in your landscape!

Have you considered fresh types of garden structures that can bring in new style in your landscape? Arbors and pergolas augments the aesthetics of your yard for it invites the eye to look up. Whether functional or ornamental, there are many ways you can utilize these structures to enhance your landscape design.

You may have thought, like many non-gardeners, if there’s a difference between an arbor or a pergola at all.   Even if there are no concurrence on this, the arbor is a small architecture which has an arch on top, with a measurement that stands 6 1/2 to 9 feet at the summit. Arbors are placed overhead in walkways near a gate. Pergolas, in the meanwhile, has a flat top at the crossing of the straight sides it rests on. It can range in different sizes, large enough to cover your patio to something smaller that hangs just slightly over a walkway.

I living in Calgary, Alberta Canada and I always try to incorporate an arbor or pergola when I create a Calgary Landscape Design.

Materials for arbors and pergolas vary greatly and can include wood, vinyl, or metal. Wood lends a natural and sometimes rustic look to an arbor or pergola, and can be painted or stained to easily change its appearance down the road. Using wood can save you in your expenses, but it won’t last long as steel or vinyl. Some concerns with wood structures include rotting, splintering, and decay caused by wood boring pests.

Vinyl, on the contrary, has easy maintenance with no need for staining or painting. Vinyl also do not decay or rot and it last longer than wood. Vinyl typically costs more than wood, but the longevity of the product may pay off in the long run. If you’re going for vinyl, look for those which are ultraviolet resistant to prevent discoloration.

The use of metal or iron as your material is a better choice because it is sturdy.   Though, you have to choose with caution the type of metal in your structure. Iron and steel will rust, which may or may not be desirable, depending on the look you want. But if you still prefer metal, use aluminum which has been proven as a rust free metal. Try to have a metal with a powder coat finish if you want a painted look.

We use all types of materials when doing a Landscape Design in Calgary. It just really depends on what your preference is, no matter where you live.

Whatever you decide, garden structures are a great way to add a focal point to your landscape. They will complement your garden’s style and then add a vertical feature in your otherwise flat planes. Pergolas and arbors for that matter can transform a discreet garden design into something distinctive and attractive which your guests would certainly admire.

I have a lot of fun with Calgary Landscape Design, and no matter where you live it is important to take the unique canvass you have available to you to be as creative as possible!
